CORELLE® dinnerware is the original break and chip resistant glass dinnerware.
Introduced in 1970 and the first of its kind when developed, CORELLE is recognised
worldwide for its legendary strength and durability.
Corelle glass dinnerware is made through a hub lamination process that thermally
bonds three layers of glass: core glass in the middle, with top and bottom layers of
very clear skin or glaze glass. The process creates a lightweight, durable, multilayered
product called VITRELLE. In addition, the unique enamels used during the
decorating process actually become part of the glass, so the patterns last as long as
the plate.
Through extensive consumer research, it was established that consumers wanted
dinnerware that was:
• Easy to clean, dishwasher and oven safe
• Lightweight, yet durable
• Break, chip, craze spot and fade-resistant under normal use
• Affordable, yet attractive.
Achieving all of these points, so popular was Corelle that throughout its first decade,
Corelle Livingware was virtually sold out, even before it was made. Within 18
months after Corelle was first placed on sale, more than 40 million pieces had been
sold in the USA –an unprecedented record.
Our philosophy at Corelle is simple, we want you to be proud to set your table with
Corelle dinnerware – both for entertaining and for your family every day. We strive to
keep our patterns on trend to provide you with the ultimate in dinnerware that fits
your life and your style!
